Why I Only Use Cruelty-Free Cosmetics

Every day we interact with so many different products for our health, cleanliness and beauty. From deodorant and shampoo to skincare and makeup, women especially use a lot of stuff. All of these products also have a lot of ingredients. The sad truth is, a lot of brands test these ingredients on animals. Why do they do this you ask? Their reasoning would be that its for safety. Safety of who? Not the animals. There are plenty of brands that test on humans. There is simply no need for animal testing. The animal testing itself sometimes is not even the worst part. Its the quality of life and treatment of the animals that’s usually worse. These animals are kept in tiny cages. Usually too small for them to even turn around. They are kept inside in dark rooms and laboratories. They are fed only the minimum to keep them alive. They often sit in their own feces. They are only let out of their cages to have products and chemicals tested on their bodies and fur. They never see the outside world and never get to live their intended animal life. Another face is that they aren’t only testing on rats. Bunnies and even cats and dogs, preferably beagles are used a lot of the time as well. They use beagles for their kind nature as they often don’t fight back. As terrible as this sounds its the truth.

These methods of animal testing are not only cruel but unnecessary. There are hundreds of brands that test on themselves! Also if they know whats in the product, they really shouldn’t need to test it at all. After doing some research on brands, there are so many respectable brands that test on animals which is really sad. They lost my respect. Do your own research! After I started looking up all the things animals go through I threw away everything that tested on animals. From then on I always did my research. I don’t buy anything that tests on animals. There are so many high quality brands that are cruelty free so you aren’t really missing out on anything when switching. You can do research on Pinterest and look at the brands website to see what they say about animal testing.

Hopefully after reading this, it makes you take a look at your makeup bag and in your shower and think twice!
